Sling TV Rebrand (WIP)
Ask: To make the Sling brand more sophisticated, immersive, and consistent.
Solution: Gradients, layers, templates, motion graphics package, meaning behind the graphics we use, and a whole new photo library. We also gave the brand a tagline to stand behind and even pitched sonic branding (to come in 2022).

The New Sling Brand
Graphics with Meaning
With more live TV streaming apps entering the market, Sling TV (the OG OTT service for live TV) needed to reinvent its look and create more equity in the visual identity of the brand. We took the Beacon symbol from the logo and broke it down into graphics with meaning.
Gradients with Movement
To incorporate a more immersive experience we created gradients that move with the Sling Beacon, that even in a static state give some sense of motion with all of our creative. These gradients also play off the horizontal design of the Beacon within the logo, giving more strategic thought behind why we are designing the way we are.
Branded Visuals
With and app available on almost any device, we often display hit shows and big events within those devices, giving people a sense of what we offer. But instead of displaying all that great content with in any ordinary TV, phone, or tablet, we decided to 3D render devices that had a more Slingified look and feel, visually queuing the brand before you see the logo.

Motion Graphics Package
For consistency in how our brand is represented, we created a motion graphics package for internal and external partners. We created end card templates, transitions, back plates, lower thirds, logo animation, and more. All built flexible so they could be interchanged throughout any video.
New Brand Image Library
We wanted to portray our brand DNA attributes to better connect with what our customers think about us. So we made our photography real, friendly, and imaginative.
The New App Experience
Working with Product to Bring the Brand Refresh into the App
To stay relevant in the user experience of streaming apps, our product team put in some serious UX research to get the flow of the app in a better space. We then helped them bring the new rebrand to life in the UI by consulting and collaborating with product designers on the art direction. Here’s our initial mocks of how to translate the rebrand of Sling into the app.
